The cottage is over 200 years old and a damp wreck, and the couple are in a new relationship, moving from the city, and they are first-time renovators with a budget of £65,000 to repair walls and floors, fix damp throughout, strip the interior out, restore original features, and put in mod cons and a new kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedrooms from scratch.
